Kim Osborne, 2010 Luminary Award Recipient
Congratulations to Kim Osborne of Columbus, Ohio, who was presented ESA's 2010 Luminary Award. A "Luminary" is a source of light, an intellectual or notable teacher. ESA has bestowed the honor annually since 2007 to recognize an outstanding ESA STAR America Representative, trainer or mentor/facilitator who has demonstrated progressive leadership, training excellence and community service.
Kim has been the Program Director at Victory Fitness Center for twenty-two years and an ESA STAR AMERICA Trainer for over ten years. She most often teaches a combined primary SAFE Exercise Leader-Personal Trainer class in preparation for certification, in addition to other training programs such as Aquatic Fitness Leader.
Kim's leadership and global community service is exemplary. In 2010, Kim and her daughter joined a group from Potter's House Church in Columbus, Ohio, who flew to Haiti to help hurricane victims. Her primary work was in an orphanage where she helped children by keeping their minds occupied through play and demonstrations of compassion. Kim travelled to the mountains with the group to bring bread and clothes to the local people.
Kim has earned the ESA Luminary Award because of her dedication to fitness training, community service, and the ideals of safe exercise, and ESA is proud of her accomplishments as a certified member and STAR America Representative instructor trainer.
